Sudden Numbness on One Side
One of the most classic stroke signs is sudden numbness or weakness that affects only one side of your body — face, arm, or leg. You might notice your arm goes limp, your leg feels heavy and won't cooperate, or one side of your face droops. This happens because a stroke affects one side of the brain, which controls the opposite side of the body. If you suddenly can't lift one arm as high as the other, act immediately.
